September is here meaning it is time to start a new fencing season! With the new season comes registration time. Please choose the program you are interested in and register. Once again we will be offering: Mini-fencing; Beginner Fencing/Intermediate Fencing; Recreational Fencing.
Please note that we are introducing the Canadian Fencing Federation’s Armband Program this year: http://www.fencing.ca/downloads/armband_program_eng.pdf . As in past years, we will have an informal competitive program. Please talk to your coach if you are interested in competing at tournaments.

Excelsior will once again offer Mini-fencing classes for kids 6-10 years old: Mini-fencing is a fun class that introduces the sport of fencing with the use of plastic swords and masks. The goal of this program is to instill a love of sport and fencing at an early age.
The program runs for ten weeks starting at 6:30 pm on Monday, September 13th. Each class is one hour long. The registration fee for this program is $145. Please ensure that your child has indoor running shoes, long pants, appropriate gym clothes and a water bottle.

A new set of Beginner Classes will begin on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:00 pm. Our beginner class is open to new fencers aged 10 and up. If you are interested in trying out fencing, this class is for you!
Classes are every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and run for six weeks. The fee for this class is $145 and includes all fencing related equipment. Registration will take place at the start of the first class at 6:00 pm on July 7th. If you are interested in purchasing equipment, please let us know. Please bring non-marking indoor running shoes, long athletic pants and water.

The St. Louis Church Gymnasium will have it’s floors done on the last two weeks of July, so we will be shutting down for that time. Beginner classes will resume on August 4th. We may organize a summer potluck picnic during this time so keep an eye on this website for details!
